Donation Needs

"A person who does not have meaningful access to our legal system does not enjoy the full benefits of citizenship, in the broadest sense of the word. A society that cannot make its system truly accessible to its citizens undermines the foundation of its democracy, its economy and its civil society." The Needs of Low Income Texans, 2005.

Legal Aid Ministries is unique among legal service providers: no other organization combines a knowledge of common sources of conflict – most notably, the law and finances – with a means to resolve these conflicts through mediation or arbitration.

Only Legal Aid Ministries combines legal services, educational services, conflict resolution services, and financial education services as part of a comprehensive community justice center. Moreover, most of our major programs – legal, financial, and conciliation – are free, except for very small and affordable administrative fees. This ensures that those who need our services can obtain them regardless of their ability to pay.

We need people, facilities, supplies, technology, and money for court-related fees in order to meet the needs of the low income clients who come to Legal Aid Ministries for help. Here's a brief list of our needs right now:
